A new study from the, has found that the generic version of the pain reliever and anti-inflammatory drug Celebrex, the most common brand name for the pain reliever Celebrex (celecoxib), can also be prescribed as an alternative to generic versions.
The study, published online in the, looked at the use of the generic versions of the drug in patients with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which are commonly used for the treatment of arthritis and other inflammatory conditions.
The study found that the generic versions of the drug have a higher risk of causing gastrointestinal (GI) side effects compared with the brand name version. The researchers found that patients on ibuprofen, naproxen, and celecoxib had a lower risk of developing these side effects compared with patients on the brand name version.
“NSAIDs have been shown to be effective and are generally well-tolerated,” said lead researcher Dr. Michael Schondelmeyer, who was not involved in the study. “This study supports the use of NSAIDs in the treatment of arthritis. We are aware of the potential side effects of NSAIDs and will continue to monitor the safety profile of NSAIDs when prescribing these medications for this indication.”
The study was conducted in collaboration with the National Institute of Arthritis and Muscle Pain (NIAC P. R. B. P. S. and NIMH P. S., the respective NDA), the U. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
The drugs are prescribed to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions such as arthritis, menstrual cramps, musculoskeletal injuries and rheumatoid arthritis.
The researchers looked at data from the clinical trials of nine different NSAIDs, including Celebrex, and determined that those on the brand name version are more likely to have GI adverse effects, especially when taken concomitantly with a lower dose of the generic NSAIDs. The most common adverse effect was gastrointestinal bleeding, with patients taking the brand name version more than twice as often as the generic.
The researchers found that patients taking the brand name versions of Celebrex were about three times more likely to have GI side effects compared with patients taking the generic versions.
“Our study confirms that, when used together, these generic NSAIDs can be used safely and effectively as an alternative to the brand name NSAIDs,” said Schondelmeyer.
“This study also demonstrates that there are other NSAIDs that can be safely used in combination with the generic NSAIDs, which are safer and have a lower risk of adverse reactions. These combinations can be used for other treatment regimens in addition to the branded NSAIDs, including for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,” Schondelmeyer continued.
“This study also shows that these combination therapies should be used cautiously, particularly in patients who have poor control of their pain and inflammation.”
The researchers hope that the findings of this study will lead to further investigation of the use of generic NSAIDs in patients with arthritis and other inflammatory conditions.
“NSAIDs are known to be a safer and safer alternative to the brand name NSAIDs,” said Schondelmeyer.
The research was reported in February 2020 byThe New England Journal of Medicine, the journal of the American Medical Association. The study, co-funded by the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute on Aging, examined the use of the generic versions of the drug Celebrex in patients with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.Sold and Supplied by Healthylife Pharmacy

Celebrex is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat pain and inflammation (swelling) caused by conditions such as arthritis, menstrual pain, menstrual cramps, and menstrual pain caused by hormones. The drug is commonly used to treat pain and inflammation of the hip, wrist, and elbow joints.
Celebrex is not just effective but also has shown to help prevent osteoarthritis (OA) pain in people who have been affected by OA. By blocking the production of the hormones that cause pain and inflammation, Celebrex helps to reduce the symptoms and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Celebrex is not just effective but also has been shown to work by preventing osteoarthritis pain and inflammation. This can lead to improvements in pain and function.
Celebrex is available in tablet form, with or without food, which helps to prevent stomach upset. It is important to follow the instructions on your medicine label carefully to ensure the medication is safe for use.
Celebrex may take longer to show results compared to other NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen or naproxen. This can be due to the long half-life of celecoxib (a form of NSAID) or to the fact that the medication is metabolized differently than other NSAIDs.
However, it is important to be aware of potential side effects and take the lowest effective dose to minimise symptoms.
Celebrex is not intended for everyone, and the risks and side effects of taking it are not well-known.

In this article, we explore the benefits of Celebrex and its potential impact on the gastrointestinal system.
Celebrex is a medication that is commonly used to treat pain and inflammation. It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, substances that contribute to pain and inflammation. It’s often used as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for the treatment of arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. However, the long-term use of Celebrex may lead to a decrease in gastrointestinal motility and sensitivity, which may result in a variety of health issues such as bloating, diarrhea, and stomach discomfort. Celebrex also has potential risks associated with its use for cancer. Understanding the benefits of Celebrex and its risks is essential for anyone considering its use for treatment of conditions like arthritis.
Celebrex is available in several forms, including tablets, capsules, and oral solution. Celebrex tablets are a convenient and effective solution for managing arthritis pain and inflammation. Additionally, Celebrex capsules are FDA-approved and readily available in the US, making it accessible to a broad audience.
